Community Events & Concerts
Berks Opera fills a gap in the cultural offerings available to the Greater Reading audience and the regional community by providing live opera, and provide opportunities for young and local singers to practice their art. This Summer we worked with Olivet's PAL Center for the Arts (Reading, PA) for a grant funded youth performance of "Hänsel & Gretel". An Enchanted Fundraising Event for Hänsel & Gretel, Summer 2024
Feeney Historic Mansion and Gardens were a splendid setting for an afternoon featuring young singers, wine tastings with Marc Supsic and delicious food from Judy's on Cherry. We collaborate closely with Albright College, whose students will perform substantially all the roles in Hänsel & Gretel. Berks Opera will provide vocal and musical training for the cast, stage direction, sets, costumes, props, a chamber orchestra, musical direction, and generally be responsible for the overall production.
